A Trip to a hidden village - Set Set Yo - Ngathayauk

Today, we will pick you up at your hotel and then will head to a hidden village of Set Set Yo where the peculiar hair-style of Myanmar kids welcome you to explore the ways of the life. After 45 mintues drive along the dirt road, you will reach a village where the car will turn left to reach Set Set Yo. At the village, outstanding thing you will see is the hair-do adorned by those children that is used to be the way of hair parting from the monarchical era and this village is the only one in Myanmar where the kids maintain this hair-style. Besides studying how they manage to wear this hair, you can also explore the means of living of that village remote totally from the civilized society. Living mostly from farming, the villagers and nearby villages also work on the pottery manufacturing totally by hands and most of the pots, jars are for keeping the water cool inside. As the area is located in the dry zone, water is so scared that they will have to collect the rain drops from the roof and preserve in those pots for the whole year.

Then, continue your drive on to Ngathayauk where you can see some home industries such as Pon Yay Gyi (Dehydrated Soya Bean) factory, pottery and so on. In the afternoon, drive back to Bagan.

A Trip to Pakkokku - Downstream the Irrawaddy River by Boat

An ideal excursion on your extra or leisure day in Bagan when you feel like you have seen most of the temples (or at least enough) and also want to discover a bit more of the Myanmar countryside. We go by private car to Kyauk Gu Ohn Min cave temple that rarely sees foreign visitors. The temple is in the middle of the jungle so hidden that you can't see if the temple really exists. After exploring the cave, you may continue your drive to Pakkoku (approximately 45 minutes). Upon arrival at Pakkokku, visit a local slipper factory, papier-mache home industry. And then you may head to the market and see where the famous Pakkoku blankets are made. We will offer you lunch at a restaurant in Pakkokku. Then, head to your private boat which is ready for you at the jetty in Pakkoku for a leisurely 2 hour trip downriver up to Bagan.

Along the river cruise,  your guide and driver will show local village life in the dry zone and transfer back to your hotel.
