Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Kalaw- Ywa Pu (approx; 7-hour Trekking)
After breakfast, start your full-day trekking from Kalaw bringing the necessary things for staying overnight at the tribal village. Roads and trails go through the thick pine forest on the Shan Mountains. You will meet the many tribal villagers working on their farms and going to the market of the Kalaw Town on the way. Introduce to them by the assistance of your local Trekking guide and ask about their daily life. After 3 hours trekking you will arrive at Myint Taik village, Da Nu hill-tribe that belongs to Shan ethnic. You will have the lunch there at one of the tribal villagers’ home. After a rest continue your trekking along the Railway line passing by the some Da Nu tribal villages with the plantations of Sesame, Ginger, Carrots and so on.
You may take a break at the Myin Taik Station to study the daily life of the people who take the train transport and also buy a drink at the century-old train station. In the afternoon, continue your trek until you arrive at Ywa Pu , the Taung Yoe, one of the hill-tribes, villages of Shan Ethnic Majority.

Day 2: Ywa Pu- Hti Thein (approx; 8-hour Trekking)
Today you will start trekking early. Have a traditional breakfast offered by the best chef of the Trekking Tour. After breakfast, you can proceed your trekking up on the mountains of Shan Plateau. The trekking trails go up and down with the gust of wind coming to caress you getting tired from time to time. Take a break if necessary under the big Bayan Tree (ficus). After about 3 hours trek, you will arrive at the Paw Kai village of Pa O hill tribe. Pa O people, especially the ladies, wear their traditional dress that consists of black blouse, trousers and most attractively their turbans that they use not only as their head-dress but also the towel when they sweat. Those colorful turbans they put on their head make one of the National Geographic photos. The Pa O villages here are also famous for cultivation of Hot, Red Hot chili, and you may call them Chilli City.
After lunch, you may take a nap at the village’s typical home, stretching your legs, giving massage each other to the stiff muscules. Then continue your trek passing through the Pa O houses with the chilli drying mats in their house compound. The trail goes through the corn-maize fields, ginger fields, the small rivers and streams till finally you will arrive at the Hti Thein Monastery where you may stay overnight.
Enjoy the dinner at the monastery and overnight.
Day 3: Hti Thein-Taung Bo Gyi or Than Daung -Inle Lake (Maximum 6 hours trekking)
Today, the tiresome trekking over the high mountains will end with the half day trekking up to Inle Lake. After your breakfast, start your trekking further east to the higher mountains. Looking back at the mountainous scenes, after about half an hour trek, you will see the Ocean of the Clouds up above the forests. The trails go on the edge of the mountain up to the Pa O villages of Kyauk Su, Nan Yoke where you may visit some village houses. After nearly 3 hours, you will see the last mountain that flanks the Inle Lake from the western side. That mountain is the hardest part of the trekking forming with the hard rock’s ascending down up to one of the villages on the western shore of the lake called Taung Bo Gyi. Although the trekking part is difficult, the view from the mountain top is awesome and full of joys.
Upon arrival at Taung Bo Gyi or Than Daung, your trekking will be happily finished and time to farewell to your Local Trekking Guide and Chef of the Mountains.
From there, you will be transferred to your hotel in the lake by a small boat propelled with the Chinese-Buffalo, so called because the engine, as its nickname suggests, is so noisy but it is very useful for the farmers.
